Description: This is a great basic marinara from Giada DeLaurentis. I use it as a base for making different sauces but it's just as good over any type of pasta!
Ingredients:  Makes 4 servings (4 cups)

Directions:

Heat the oil in a large pot over medium flame

Add the onions and garlic and saute until translucent, 10 minutes

Add the celery and carrots and salt and pepper, saute until tender

Add the tomatoes and bay leaves and simmer uncovered on low heat until the sauce thickens, about 1 hour/

Remove the bay leaves, season with more salt and pepper
