In a large mixing bowl, stir bananas, sugar and eggs until creamy and well-mixed.

Add flour, soda and butter; stir well.

Add buttermilk, then vanilla, then nuts, then wheat germ, stirring well after each.

Pour into 12-cup muffin pan. Bake in 350° oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center of muffin comes out clean.
Makes 12 muffins.
