Yoga Level 2: Boat Pose 2

Calories Burned:  238 calories per hour   (based on a body weight of 150 lbs.)
Instructions: 
Begin seated with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Your back is straight.

Let your weight shift a little behind your sitting bones as you use your abdominal muscles to pull your thighs in toward your chest, lifting your shins so that they are parallel to the floor.

Keep your shoulders down as you extend your arms straight out in front of you so that they mirror your shins. Reach through your finger tips and maintain your open chest.

Once you have your balance, extend your legs, keeping the height of the knees.

Support this pose by using your abdominal muscles to support your lower back -- try not to collapse into to the lower back.

Hold for 3 to 5 breaths.
