Directions:  
Soak beans overnight with a tablespoon of baking soda in cold water. Boil chicken (save broth for stock). Cool and shred or chop depending on personal preference. Add 4 cups broth, rinsed beans and spices (not salt) to a crock pot and cook till beans are slightly tender then add salt and chicken. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-6 hours. Add more spices to your taste. Serve with crackers or with/wo rice.
